Stanley Park cycling accident: Pedestrian suffers serious head injury

Police in Vancouver are investigating a collision involving a cyclist that left a pedestrian with a serious head injury.

Police in Vancouver are investigating a collision involving acyclist that left a pedestrian with a serious head injury.

The crash happened at around4 p.m. PT on the east side ofStanley Park, near Brockton Oval andthe totem poles.

Police say a71-year-old man crossing Stanley Park Drive was struck by a man riding a bicycle.

"The pedestrian was knocked to the ground, where it is believed that he suffered a serious head injury. The seniorwas rushed to hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment," a statement from the Vancouver Police Departmentsaid.

"The cyclist was not injured, remained at the scene and is co-operating with the police investigation."
