Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman after she allegedly tried to lock the front doors of a Downtown Eastside restaurant last month.

Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman after she allegedly tried to lock the front doors of a Downtown Eastside restaurant last month.

Robyn ClairePickell was taken into custody Monday afternoon after police saw her "attempting to chain and lock the front doors" of Pidgin restaurant while several staff were working inside during the early morning of March 15.

Police issuedawarrant for her arrest on a charge of mischief on May 3. A bail hearing is expected to take place on Tuesday.

The restaurant has been a target ofanti-gentrification protesterssince it opened near Pigeon Park, a notorious drug-dealing hotspot, near the boundary between Gastown and the Downtown Eastside.

Protesters say the restaurants are too expensive for residents of the low-income neighbourhood, and many would prefer to see the location used for housing.
