Woman charged with 2nd-degree murder in Surrey, B.C., stabbing

A woman is now facing acharge of second-degree murder after her alleged victim died from injuries sustained in a stabbing in Surrey, B.C., last month.

Surrey RCMP saidthey were called to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car near 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard in the early morning ofSept. 8.

When officers arrived, they discovered the woman in distress had been stabbed. She died in hospital on Sept. 13.

Jennifer Kipp, 36, was originally charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

Kipphad previously been found guilty on two counts of aggravated assault in May 2023, according to online court records, and given one year probation.

In a statement on Monday, Surrey RCMP said Kipp was charged with second-degree murder on Oct. 3and remains in custody.

She is next due to appear in Surrey provincial court on Friday.
