A 41-year-old drug addict and sex worker found dead in Surrey's Hi-Knoll Park last week is thought to be Surrey's 20th homicide victim of 2013.

The body of Surreyresident Lisa Ann Zielke, 41, was found in the park's parking loton Colebrook Road on Thursday, but her identity was not released by police until Monday morning.

On Monday, police released photos of the scene where Zielkewas found, including an image of some old furniture dumped nearby. Investigators are hoping to talk to whoever dumped the items.

Sgt. Jennifer Pound said Zielke was "living a high-risk lifestyle, in that she was drug dependent and actively working as a sex worker predominately in the Surrey area."

As part of their investigation, police have been speaking to other sex workers and warning them to take extra precautions during this time.

Zielke was last seen alive getting into a vehicle on Oct. 30, 2013 at 6:15 pm in the 9100 block of King George Boulevard, says Pound.

"Her body was located 17 hours later in the parking lot of Hi-Knoll Park, in the 19500 block of Colebrook Road," said Pound.

"Found with her body were several pieces of furniture, including a brown sofa-bed and a wood table and chairs."

Investigators believe Zielke was in the park around the time the furniture was dumped, and whoever dumped the furniture may have information about her death.

Pound said an autopsy has been completed, but they are still awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the IHIT Tipline at1-877-551-4448, or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at1-800-222-8477.

  • A previous version of this story incorrectly stated the death was Surrey's 21st homicide of 2013. It was actually the 20th.
