A North Vancouver brewery has created a beer in honour of Tim Jones, the late mountain rescuer, with all proceeds going to the Time Jones Legacy Fund.

As part of the continued fundraising for the Tim Jones Legacy Fund, Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers have partnered with North Shore Rescue (NSR) to create a beer in honour of the late, much-loved mountain rescuer.

Jones, who was considered a hero by many, earned the nickname "Shredder", partly for his love of skiing, but also from the motivational tactics he employed to inspire his team to always work at a top performance level.

The ale has been designed as something "Tim would have enjoyed with his family, friends and husky after a call well done," according to a press release Wednesday.

Jones dreamt of a day when the NSR would be funded in a way that would allow the team to spend more time on training. All proceeds from the sale of Deep Cove's Shredder Golden Ale will go directly to the Tim Jones Legacy Fund, the release states.

Jones died in January this year, after collapsing on a trail whilecoming down from arescue cabin on Mount Seymour. A memorial parade in his honour saw an honour guard procession and the streets of North Vancouver lined with people who came to pay their respects to the tireless volunteer and spokesman for NSR.
