The Vancouver Canuckshad to rebuild their brand this year, after the National Hockey League team faceda disappointing collapse last season, sending ticket sales plunging to record lows.

The renewal was spearheaded by the team's new president and fan favourite, Trevor Linden, who was hired after former president and general manager MikeGillis was let go the day after the team failed to make the playoffs.

Coach John Tortorella and assistant coach Mike Sullivan were also fired, less than a month after Linden took the helm.

The team also had a number of changes on the ice, trading centre Ryan Kesler to the Anaheim Ducks, and bringing in veteran goalie Ryan Miller.

Under the new leadership, the Canucks have bounced back in the first half of the season, but it remains to be seen if fans will get behind the team and if they can manage a respectable playoff run.
