Vancouver's 3rd winter blast framed in ice and concrete

As icy cold gripped Vancouver last night homeless people struggled to cope with below zero temperatures.

Snow began dusting Vancouver streets around 1 a.m. PT last night, adding a sparkle to the concrete landscape.

CBC's overnight reporter Gian Paolo Mendoza captured images of the night, and the struggle for those living through it as he walked Vancouver's sidewalks.

While temperatures did not dip as low as earlier this week, when lows hit -9 C, even -4 C feels extra frigid lying on concrete.
