News, weather, road conditions and everything else you need to start your day.

Daybreak Kamloops delivers invigorating morning radio that's fresh, honest and community focused.

Shelley Joyce does serious and quirky interviews that make listeners late for work because they can't turn their radios off.

Shelley Joyce, Host

A longtime Kamloopsian, Shelley is a familiar voice for local CBC listeners. Since 2006, her stories have been heard on Daybreak South broadcasting from Kelowna. Her items have also been heard on CBC national radio programs like The Current and The Story from Here.

Shelley has hosted radio programs in Vancouver and Victoria - often from a radio studio in the basement of her Kamloops home.

Doug Herbert, News Anchor/ Back fill host

After graduating from the broadcast journalism program at BCIT, Doug began his journalism career in Vancouver. He anchored radio newscasts and reported from the field, covering a wide range of stories from elections to hostage takings to the Stanley Cup riot.

Doug moved to Kamloops in 2011, immersing himself in the community, and breaking stories as a TV reporter with CJFC. He loves the access to the outdoors that Kamloops provides and especially enjoys fishing at Jacko Lake. He's ecstatic to be part of the Daybreak Kamloops team. Tweet him: @DHerbertCBC

Rob Polson, Producer

Arriving in Kamloops in the late 1980's, Rob eventually worked his way into the anchor's chair at CFJC TV. He then spent 10 years producing TV news at CBC in Vancouver. CBC's arrival in Kamloops is a dream come true for Rob, and he's very happy to be back.

Jennifer Chrumka, Associate Producer

Jennifer graduated from UBC's Graduate School of Journalism in 2007. She has worked for CBC Radio since the beginning, first in Victoria then as morning news reader for Daybreak South in Kelowna, where she won an RTNDA award for Best Newscast in 2010.

Family life took her back to the Island where she filled a variety of roles (news reader, co-host/technician, associate producer) over the past couple of years. The lure of the Interior and its snowy mountains drew her back to the Interior this fall where she is now happily settled with her young family.
