A West Kelowna will remain closed for a second season. A chair lift accident at Crystal Mountain Resort injured four people in 2014 and the hill has been closed ever since.

Crystal Mountain Ski Resort in West Kelownaisclosedfor a second straight season, according to industry watchers.

The small, family oriented ski resort has been under scrutiny.

Earlier this year the BC Safety Authorityspecified changes the skill hill needed to make after a chair lift malfunction in March2014 injuredfour people.

David Lynn, CEO of the Canada West Ski Areas Association, told CBC it appears the work still hasn't been done.

"The information I've heard from various people in the industry is that Crystal Mountain has not done those things that would be required to open for the current season," Lynn said.

A posting on the Crystal Mountain website says the ski-hill plans to open in 2015, althoughthat post is more than a year old.

The news is disappointing for people like Mike Matwechuk, whostill hasn't been refunded for the four passes his family purchased for last ski season.

"We are quite disappointed because we live on the West Side and it's literally 15 minutes from our house," said Matwechuk.
