Woman charged with 2nd-degree murder after Vancouver stabbing

Vancouver police say a suspect arrested Thursday morning after a man was stabbed in the Joyce-Collingwood area of the city has been charged and remains in custody.

Vancouver police say a suspect arrested after a recent stabbing in East Vancouver has now been charged following a homicide investigation.

According to police, Dolly Patricia Capoose, 27, was arrested Thursday morning after a man was found stabbedin a residential building nearKingsway and Melbourne Street in East Vancouver shortly after midnight the same day.

In a Thursday statement, police identified the victim as34-year-old Brian Mathew Clayton and said he died before being taken to hospital.

Officers believe Capoose and Clayton knew each other.

In a statement issued Friday,VPD Sgt. Steve Addison saidthe B.C. Prosecution Service has charged Capoosewith second-degree murder.

Addison's statementsaidCapoose remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
