The accident happened at 17th Avenue and 47th Street S.E. at around 8 a.m. MT as three children were crossing at the intersection, police said.

A 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital in serious but stable, non-life-threatening condition.

The other victim, a five-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries, Duty Insp. Darrell Hess said.

Both children were taken to the Alberta Childrens Hospital.

Area resident Selena Ward, who arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, said she has complained to the city several times about the intersection, calling it dangerous.
