Drugs, guns and cash were seized in a Cochrane drug bust that resulted in the arrest of three people, police said in a release Friday.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) said four homes were searched Thursday in the communityjust west of Calgary.

The investigation, done jointly with the Cochrane RCMP, led to charges against a 25-year-old male, a 26-year-old male and a 29-year-old male.

"Cochrane is a safe community and we welcome the collaboration with ALERT to stamp out threats to public safety, such as drug trafficking," said RCMP Staff Sgt. Chad Fournier.

"ALERT is still finalizing the total amounts and weights of drugs seized. Cocaine was seized alongside evidence consistent with drug trafficking, including packaging materials, scoresheets, scales, and a number of cell phones. Two firearms were also seized alongside a large amount of various rounds of ammunition at another residence," police said.

ALERT says additional charges are being considered.
