Calgary police arrest another man over drug-related multiple shootings

A ninth man has been arrested and charged in connection to an organized crime group Calgary Police believe is responsible for dozens of shootings over drug-related disputes.

A ninth man has been arrested and charged in connection to an organized crime group Calgary Police believe is responsible for dozens of shootings over drug-related disputes.

The shootings were carried out predominantly in Calgary's northeast between January 2015 and May of this year eight men were arrested and charged last month.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged for his role in a drive-by shooting on the 100 block of Coral Springs Close N.E. on Dec.13, 2015. Multiple shots were fired at a parked vehicle with two men inside. No one was hurt.

Ahed Alwandof Calgaryhas been charged withconspiracy to commit murder,two counts of attempted murder,accessory after the fact of attempted murder,possession of a loaded firearm, and three counts of breach of recognizance.

The Calgary Police Major Crimes section worked with tips from the public for the arrests.
