Air Canada to end flights between Red Deer and Calgary

Air Canada says it willdiscontinue itsflights between Calgary and Red Deer in the fall.

The change takes effect on Nov. 1.

Airline industry analyst Rick Erickson says the service rollback is a reflection of the state of the economy.

"It is unfortunate news. It is nonetheless an example of what goes on in this industry. And Calgary has, the Alberta economy has, taken quite a hit, and I guess we're seeing some of the fallout from that."

Air Canada currently has three daily flights between Calgary and Red Deer.
