Airdrie man accused of causing 'severe injury' to toddler, charged with aggravated assault

A man from Airdrie, Alta., is accused of causing a "severe injury" to a toddler and has been charged with aggravated assault.

RCMP are not naming the accused in order to protect the victim's identity

A man residing inAirdrie, Alta., is accused of causing a "severe injury" to a toddler and has been charged with aggravated assault.

Police say they're not naming the 27-year-old, who lived with the child, in order to protect the identity of the victim.

On March 8, a 20-month-old was taken to hospital after being injured.

RCMP were notified and after a nearly three-month investigation, charges were laid against the man.

The accused has been released on bail and will appear in court later this month.
