Alberta Children's Hospital warns of measles exposure

Health officials are warning of a potential measles exposure in the Alberta Children's Hospital emergency room.

Letters sent to patients who may have been exposed

Health officials are warning of a potential measles exposure in the Alberta Children's Hospital emergency room.

Patients who may have been exposed to the virushave been sent a letter.

"[It] advises these individualsto watch for symptoms of measles, and to call Health Link Alberta before visiting any health-care provider or facilityif symptoms do develop," according to health officials.

The possible exposure happened in the emergency room on these dates:

  • Jan. 18between 12:41p.m. and 9:18p.m.
  • Jan. 16-17 between the hours of6p.m.and 1:53 a.m.
  • Jan. 14 between the hours of 1:30p.m. and 8:34p.m.

Sending such letters is "standard procedure," according to Alberta Health Services officials.
