As Halloween approaches, we thought we'd explore some of Alberta's most spookily named places and let you do the same via the interactive map below.

The idea came from the Alberta Motor Association, which notedOctober through December is the second-slowest season for Alberta tourism, accounting for just 21 per cent of annual overnight visits to destinations within the province.

"Albertans are looking to stretch their vacation dollars more than ever," AMA Travel's director of salesNikolaBerubesaid in a release. "Travelling in the shoulder season is a smart way to do that without sacrificing quality."
