Anti-abortion activists fight U of C censure in court

A pro-life student group is going to court to try to quash a ruling by University of Calgary officials that found the organization guilty of non-academic misconduct.

Some studentswho campaign against abortion are going to court to try to quash a ruling by University of Calgary officials that foundthem guilty of non-academic misconduct.

The university's decision was made in 2008 after several members of Campus Pro-Life refused to make their anti-abortion posters less visible to passersby.

In that campaign, the activists compared abortion to the Rwandan genocide and the Holocaust.

The misconduct ruling was upheld by the university's appeal board and subsequently by the board of governors.

The groupis hoping aCourt of Queen's Bench Justice will force the school to overturn the decision.
