Calgary police say two people are facing dozens of charges after drugs, guns and cash were seized from a home that was identified as a "chronic problem house" in the southeast community of Applewood.

"Thank you to the community ofApplewoodfor assisting us in this investigation,"Insp. Kelly Campbell said in a release.

"They made it clear that this type of activity is not welcome in their neighbourhood."

Campbell said officers from District 4 worked with the provincial Safer Communities andNeighbourhoods(SCAN) unit to address "ongoing community concerns" about alleged illegal activity at the homein the 0-100 block ofApplecroftRoad S.E.

"Chronic problem houses have a huge impact on the feeling of safety within a community," Campbell said.

"We take these issues seriously, but we can't do it alone. We need communities to step up, have a voice and report suspicious activity."

Among the items seized during a raid on the home last week was 47grams of crystal meth, 17 grams of crack cocaine, 142grams of marijuana, a CZ 858 tactical rifle, a Winchester model 70 rifle and nearly $2,600 in cash.

Trevor Honish, 49, and Tara Sprayson, 34, were arrested on a host of charges.
