Arabic Baptist Church pastor charged in 1994 child sexual assault

Police have charged a man in connection with the sexual assault of a child alleged to have happened in 1994.

The charges were laid after the victim reported a series of sexual assaults that allegedly occurred during counselling sessions with his pastor.

A 52-year-old man is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference with a child under 14.

At the time of the alleged incidents, the accused was the pastor of the Arabic Baptist Church, which used space at the Cambrian Heights Baptist Church in northwest Calgary.

TheArabic Baptist Church is currently known as the Arabic Alliance Church and uses space at the Foothills Alliance Church.
