Man arrested in Red Deer after Ford Ranger collides with RCMP cruiser, other vehicles
Suspect tracked to nearby street by police dogs
Red Deer police arrested a man after a suspect in a pickup truck hit a police cruiser, and several other vehicles, and then fled on foot early Monday morning.
Police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at the Easthill Shopping Centre in south Red Deer at around 8 a.m., RCMP said.
A man driving a Ford Ranger smashed into a police cruiser and several other vehicles before fleeing the sceneinto the Inglewood neighbourhood. No one was injured in the collisions.
Police contained the area and, with help from the RCMP K-9 unit, tracked the suspect to Illingworth Close, where he was arrested.
