3 Stoney Nakoda First Nation residents charged with kidnapping

RCMP in Cochrane have charged three people from the Stoney Nakoda First Nation with assault and kidnapping with a firearm.

RCMP in Cochrane, Alta., have charged three residents of theStoney Nakoda First Nation with assault and kidnapping with a firearm.

Police received a report of an abduction of an adult male on January 24.

Investigators said in a news release Tuesday the alleged victim "had planned a meeting with the suspects related to drug activity and was taken and held for a period of time."

Hewas later released with minor injuries

Police have charged Georgina Twoyoungmen, 36,Lyle Bearspaw, 23, and Crieg Amos, 26.

All three appeared todayin Cochrane Provincial Court.
