Base jumper confirmed dead near Canmore

Canmore RCMP confirm a 38-year-old base jumper fell to his death near the mountain town west of Calgary on the weekend.

Canmore RCMPconfirm a 38-year-old base jumper fell to his death nearthe mountain town west of Calgaryon the weekend.

A group went up on Sunday morning for a jump from Grotto Mountain.

Shortly before 5 p.m.police were called after the man's body was discovered.

Police are still investigating but say the incident isnot consideredsuspicious.

It's the second time this summer a base jumper has died in the area.

A 34-year-old man from Calgary, who was very experienced,was killed in early August.
