Beltline beating victim dies of injuries

A Calgary man has died of his injuriesalmost fourmonths afterhe was viciously beatenin the city's Beltline neighbourhood.

John Herrera was attacked in May.

The 49-year-oldwas carrying groceries when policebelieve three people beat him up.

Policesaythe beating was unprovoked.

Three people are now facingattempted murder charges.

The Crown prosecutor's office says it will seek to havethe charges against themupgraded to second-degree murder.
