Brentwood LRT sexual assault suspect arrested, charged

A man accused of sexual assault near the Brentwood LRT station last week has been arrested and charged, Calgary police said Wednesday night.

A man accused of sexual assault near the Brentwood LRT station last week has been arrested and charged, Calgary police said Wednesday night.

Andrew Holloway, 26, was arrested by RCMP in the Cochrane area, and has been charged with sexual assault, common assault and uttering threats, police said in a news release.

Holloway was charged in connection with an attack last Friday.

A woman left the Brentwood stationat around 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 26 andwas walking toward Brentwood Road N.W. and Blackiston Drive N.W. when she noticed a man walking behind her.

According to a Calgary police statementissued Wednesday, the man grabbed her from behind and dragged her to a nearby alley.

The woman screamed for help, but was pushed to the ground and struck in the head by her assailant. She fought back and was able to escape, police said.
