The High Performance Rodeo's 30th anniversary features a new bit all about Calgarians' relationship with the city they call home.

Okay Calgary, we can admit it.

There are times we love our city, and there are times when we just want to turn out the lights, shut the door and hand someone else the keys as we make our way to, say, Vancouver.

As part of our Calgary at a Crossroads project, we've been exploring what makes our city tick, and if it has a heart and soul.

Itseems we're not the only ones asking the question.

The folks of One Yellow Rabbit have crafted, Calgary, I love you, but you're killing me,anew play that opensas part of theHigh Performance Rodeo's 30th anniversary.

As they put it, "Does the city have a soul, and if so how do we describe it? Just who the hell are we now?"

The CBC's Rob Brown talked to the writer and director of the play Blake Brooker about the role of art in a recession and the reasons we can love and/orhate Calgary.
