After a months-long police search, the body of Shannon Madill has been found at the Calgary home the actress shared withhusband Joshua Burgess, who has now been charged with second-degree murder.
Madill, 25, was reported missing Dec.1 after failing to show up for a family event the day before.
The remainswererecovered on Friday at the home in the 1900 block ofSpillerRoad S.E. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
"It transitioned from a missing-person investigation to a homicide investigation within the last week," said Staff Sgt.Colin Chisholmof the homicide unit.
Chisholm did not specify where the body was found.
Police dug up part of the home'sbackyard on Sunday as they continued to execute a search warrant.
"Obviously, a body located within a residence that is now six months, seven months old, there would have had to be some form of concealment," Chisholm said.
Police were not aware of any history of domestic conflict between Burgess, 29, and Madill.
He is set to appear in court on Tuesday.
