2 Calgary homes 'uninhabitable' after fire early Sunday morning

Two houseshave extensive damageafter a fire in the early hours of Sunday morning in a southwestCalgary community.

The Calgary Fire Department received multiple calls around 2 a.m. for the blaze, which happened around the 6600 block of Coach Hill Road S.W., according to a release.

Everyone living in the buildings wasable to evacuate before fire crews arrived. Alberta Health Services assessed some of the residents on the scene, but nobody was taken to the hospital.

Fire crews were able to control the flames and remained on scene throughout the day to ensure the fire wasextinguished. Two homes "will be uninhabitable," said the fire department,while a third has some exterior damage.

The Calgary Fire Department fire investigator is working to determine the cause and origin of thefire. Anyone withphotos, video or information can reach out to the fire department atpiofire@calgary.ca.
