Cranston crash: Man dead after pickup crashes into 2 garages in southeast Calgary

A man is dead after a bizarre accident when his pick-up truck crashed through not just one but two garages in southeast Calgary before grinding to a halt.

A man is dead after a bizarre accident when his pick-up truck crashed through not just one but two garages on Cranston Drive in southeast Calgary before grinding to a halt.

Although paramedics declared the driver a man in hismid-30s dead at the scene, it wasn't immediately clear whether he died of injuries or suffered a medical incident before the crash.

EMS says the truck left the road on Cranston Drive in southeast Calgary, hit a landscaping rock on a front lawn and then crashed into a garage, where it hit a car before breaking through the opposite wall of the first garage.

"Thereafter, it broke through the exterior wall of the garage on thenextproperty over before finally coming to a stop inside it," said EMS spokesmanStuart Brideaux.

The accident happened just after 2p.m.in the 0-100 block ofCranstonDrive S.E.

"It is not clear at this time whether or not a medical event precipitated this incident, it will only be determined through further investigation,"Brideaux said in a statement.

Nobody else was injured in the crash.
