The September long weekend is so close,you can almost feel it.

Whether you pitch a tent in your favourite provincial park or pump up your raft for a float down the Bow River, this seems like the weekend to squeeze in the last fun of summer. CBC Homestretch's Tracy Fuller has some great suggestions for long weekend entertainment.

Fiesta Filipino

Sam Milby,a Filipino-American actor, model, reality TV star and recording artist, is in Calgary for Fiesta Filipino this weekend! This marks the third year for this three-day celebration in Calgary. The festivities start Friday at noon in Olympic Plaza and run all Saturday, through to Sunday afternoonwith bands, food, a singing competition, publiczumba, kids activities and more.

Calgary Highland Games

Whether you're a fan of the heavy sports or want to break out your kilt, this is the weekend to do it.The Calgary Highland Games are taking over Springbank Park on Saturday. On Sunday the Canmore Highland Games take over Centennial Park. Looking at the schedules,Saturday is mostly a celebration of the music and dance of the highlands with piping and drumming competitions. Sunday is all about the heavy sports:the dance competitions, a sheep dog demonstration, whiskey tasting and a tug-of-war. Sunday all ends with a traditional Ceilidh.

Shaw Charity Classic

It'salready underway at Canyon Meadows Golf Course.Lots of big names in the running this year, from Rocco Mediate, to Nick Faldo, Fred Couples and VIjay Singh to name a few.It all wraps up on Sunday

Pride Parade

Pride Week wraps up on Monday, but not before Calgary's most colourful celebration takes over 6th Avenue.An estimated 60,000spectators are expected along the parade route on Sunday, which starts outside Bow Valley College and ends at Prince's Island Park where Pride in the Park will be in full swing.

The parade starts rolling at noon, and wraps up at 2 p.m.Pride in the Park continues through 6 p.m.

Beyond the parade there are tonsof pride events happening now through Monday.

Tour of Alberta

The Tour of Alberta is Canada's largest stage race. It'sroad cyclingoverfour days, featuring 12 world-class teams, covering 546 kilometers. This year the tour starts in Jasper and races to the Marmot Basin Ski Area, then moves to Spruce Grove and spends the final two days of competition in Edmonton.
