Dense fog prompts advisory for Calgary, surrounding area

A thick blanket of fog enveloped Calgary on Wednesday evening, prompting an advisory from Environment Canada.

A thick blanket of fog enveloped Calgary on Wednesday evening, prompting an advisory from Environment Canada.

The agency warned of near zero visibilityat 8 p.m., with the fog expected to stick around until late morning or early afternoon on Thursday.

The advisory could be expanded if more fog develops overnight, it read.

Advisories were also in place for Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre, Brooks, Strathmore and Vulcan.
