Calgary convenience store workers unpack $600K of heroin in food shipment

Employees at a northeast Calgary convenience store unpacked a surprise shipment last Friday approximately $600,000 worth of heroin.

Employees at a northeast Calgary convenience store unpacked a surprise shipment last Friday approximately$600,000worth of heroin.

Now, the Calgary police guns and gangs unit is trying to figure out where the drugs hidden inside a shipment of pre-made foodwere actually headed.

Employees at the convenience store called police after they noticed suspicious packages within the shipment, which originated from California.

Fire and EMS were also called to help with the unknown substances.

Police found two clear, heat-sealed bags with the word "Navi" written on the outside.

Inside the bags they discovered2 kgof what they believe to beheroin.

Anyone with information about the bizarre discovery is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
