Calgary judge orders psychiatric evaluation for Dustin Paxton

A Calgary judge says Dustin Paxton must undergo a 60-day psychiatric evaluation to help determine if he meets the criteria to be designated a dangerous offender.

Paxton convicted earlier this year of aggravated assault and sexual assault

A Calgary judge says Dustin Paxton must undergo a 60-day psychiatric evaluation to help determine ifhemeets the criteria to be designated a dangerous offender.

Paxton wasconvicted earlier this year of aggravated assault and sexual assaultafter his roommate was dropped off at a Regina hospital badly beaten and emaciated in April 2010.

He also has a criminal history that includes 41 convictionsseven of them for violent offences.

Paxton will be back in court in September.
