Auburn Bay home under investigation after suspected fentanyl lab found

A home thought to be vacant in the southeast community of Auburn Bay is under investigation after a landlord found drug-making paraphernalia and equipment.

A landlord discovered a drug-making operation in a home inthe southeast community of Auburn Bay thathe thought the tenants had vacated.

Calgary police were called Sunday at 6:15 p.m. to the 0-100 block of AutumnTerrace to investigateafter the landlord discovered drug paraphernalia and equipment used to manufacture drugs.

The RCMP Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) Team was thencalled in and is expected to search and decontaminate the home over the next several days.

Investigators are treating the home asasuspected fentanyl re-processing lab, but testing by Health Canada will be required to confirm that. Results are not expected for several weeks.

The home does not pose a public safety risk to neighbouring homes. It will take several weeks for laboratory analysis by Health Canada to determine what drugs were being made.
