Calgary police say dump trucks were set on fire and 'completely consumed'

Calgary police are hoping the public may have information on an incident in which three commercial dump trucks were lit on fire and badly damaged.

On Jan. 17, at approximately 1 p.m., the perpetratorsentered a storage yard in the 7500 block of 36th Street N.E.

They set fire to three commercial dump trucks parked in the yard for the winter.The trucks were "completely consumed by the fire," police said.

A fourth truck parked nearby had extensive damage to its exterior from the heat of the flames.

The financial loss is anticipated to be more than $150,000, police said, and the ownershave been heavily affected by the loss of the vehicles.
