Calgary police investigate suspicious death

Calgary police are investigating a suspicious death Monday in the city's downtown core.

Police said they responded to reports of gunshots around 11 a.m. in an alley between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue at 8th St. SW.

Upon arrival officers discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 20s.

The incident is under investigation by both the homicide and gang units, police said.

The name of the victim is being withheldpending the completion of anautopsy.
