Man wearing blue mask connected to 9 robberies in east Calgary

The Calgary Police Service is seeking a man believed to be connected to nine commercial robberies, all of which occurred over the past month.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking a man believed to be connected to nine commercial robberies, all of which occurred over the past month.

One common factor is that he is usuallywearing a blue mask.

According to a release, the gas station and convenience store robberies are believedto be connected, after investigators identified similar circumstances and suspect descriptions on Monday.

The thefts occurred in communities on the city's east side: Abbeydale, Forest Heights, Radisson Heights, Rundle, Sunridge, Erin Woods, Penbrooke Meadows, Red Carpet and Winston Heights/Mountview.

Police say that after speaking with victims and witnesses, and reviewing security camera footage, they are asking the public to help identify the suspect.

He isdescribed as white, 30 to 45 years old and five foot 11 to six feet tall. Police noted heusually wears a blueface mask, like those used during the pandemic. He is usually seen in abrown hoodie andgrey baseball hat.

Anyone with information about the robberies or suspect is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234 or submit a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
