Calgary school buses stranded by snowdrifts

School buses had a tough time today getting around town in the aftermath of the blizzard that hit Calgary on Monday.

School buses had a tough time today getting around town in the aftermath of the blizzard that hit Calgary on Monday.

Bus company First Student says 34 of its buses got stuck in drifts in the city's northeast on Wednesday morning.

We warned parents yesterday when we reinstated busing that there might be delays and as always when theres bad weather we ask that they make sure that their children werent waiting alone at bus stops, said the Calgary Board of Education communications manager Joanne Ramondt.

The bus company expectedmajor delays at the end of the school day as well.
