3rd suspect in fatal northwest shooting turns himself in

A suspect soughtin a shooting that killed two men last summer in the city's northwest turned himself in on Sunday, Calgary police confirmed Monday.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for Jordan Jay Ward, 20, in September.

He was identified as a person of interest afterAbas Ahmed Ibrahim, 27, and Mohamed Khalid Shaikh, 19, were killed in a shooting in the neighbourhood of Sandstone on Aug. 28.

Police said in a press release at the timethat Ward was "believed to have critical information about the fatal shooting that could help advance the investigation."

Ward is now in custody and facestwo charges of manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 12.

Two other suspects were apprehended earlier by police in relation to the shooting, which law enforcement sayswas likely targeted.

On Aug. 31, police chargedDennis Wong, 20,with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder, and one count of being party to the offence of attempted murder.

One week later, police charged a second man,Gerald David Benn, 23, with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
