Calgary to host royal visit

Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex the Queen's youngest son and his wife will be in Calgary in early June.

Calgarywillplay host to a pair of royal visitors next month.

Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex the Queen's youngest son and his wife will be in Calgary in early June.

Prince Edward, who also holds the title ofEarl of Wessex,will be inthe cityfrom June 6 through June 8, inclusive.

Hewill present the Duke of Edinburgh Awards to a number of young Canadians at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel.

He will also present RCMP medals to officers at Fort Calgary and visit the recently opened Kinnear Centre for Creativity and Innovation at the Banff Centre in nearby Banff.

His wife,Sophie Rhys-Jones,will attend separate events in British Columbia starting June 3 before joining her husband for the opening of theThe Military Museums expansion in Calgary on June 6.
