Calgary Transit to sue for $5M over failed Connect card
Company was given two separate contracts, failed to deliver on both
A dispute between Calgary Transit and a company over its non-functionalelectronic fare payment systemappears headed to court.
Transit spent years tryingto get the so-called Connect card to work on the city's trains and buses, even giving the contracted company a second chance after an initial contract termination.

Finally, in June, the city announced it was scrappingthe project altogether,as the system simplywould not work properly in Calgary.
Transit directorDoug Morgan said negotiations with Schneider Electric to recover $5 million thecity figures it is nowowed by the companyhave been unsuccessful so a lawsuit is expected to be filed soon.
