Calgarians should brace for snowfall of up to 10 to 30 centimetres, according to an Environment Canada warning.

The weather system will start to intensify in the mountainous Jasper region, before moving southeast.

CBC weather person Jodi Hughes is predicting slightly less than the Environment Canada total, pegging the snowfall at eight to 12 centimetres.

In addition to Calgary, the severe weather warning extends to Airdrie, Banff, Bow Valley, Canmore, Claresholm, Cochrane, High River, Kananaskis, Nordegg, Okotoks, Stavely, Sundre and Willow Creek.
