Expect more snow throughout the week, with a chance for some sunny breaks this weekend.

It's that time of year when the weather can't make up its mind in southern Alberta.

Most Albertans are well-versed in the ups and downs, so it won't come as a surprise that Monday's wet snowfall should give way to sunnyskies this weekend.

The temperature could get up to 12 C on Sunday, according to Environment Canada.

Kirk Torneby, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, says this year isactually pretty average.

He says while parts of southeastern Alberta saw drier than normal weather in March, April has made it up for it by being slightly wetter than usual.

"Almost smack-dab on normal," he said.

"We get these big winter 'last blasts' if you will ... largely due to a lot of cold air in the atmosphere."
