Chestermere woman charged in fatal hit and run

Calgary police have charged a 40-year-old woman from Chestermere with hit and run causing death after a young man was killed early Wednesday morning in Forest Lawn.

Calgary police have chargeda 40-year-old woman from Chestermere with hit and run causing death after a young man was killed early Wednesday morning in Forest Lawn.

At around 2:30 a.m. MT, an eastbound SUV struck and killed a 26-year-old pedestrian in the 3100 block of 17thAvenue S.E.

The driver fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle a short distance away.

Police traced the vehicle to an address in Chestermere and later took the woman into custody.
