Doug Fizzell, the superintendent of animal services for the city, said two German shepherds have been seized by his officers.

"Presently we're waiting to speak with the owner," he said."Depending on what comes back in regards to what the owner says, what the witnesses state and the extent of the injuries will determine what charges are laid. And it's possible that the dogs, one or both, will be subject to a vicious dog hearing."

During that hearing, officers will ask for one or both dogs to be euthanized, or to be declared vicious.
