2 child luring incidents spur hunt for white utility van

Calgary police are looking for a white utility van, after two attempted child luring incidents were reported in Tuscany and Coventry Hills on Monday.

It's not know whether the cases are related, but officers are hunting for a white utility van

Calgary police are investigating two attempted child luring incidents that occurred on Monday in Tuscany and in Coventry Hills.

The first incident took place around 8 a.m., as a girl was walking along Tuscany Ravine Road N.W.

Police said she was approached by a man in a white van who offered her a ride to school.The girl refused the ride and later told her parents, who contacted police.

Later in the afternoon, around 4:20 p.m., police said another girl was approached by a man in a white van as she walked in the alley between Covehaven Court and Covehaven ViewN.E.

That girl ran away after the man started talking to her. She reported the incident to her parents, who also called police.

The suspect in the second incidentis described as a white male, between 20 and 30 years old with long, light-brown hair. He is heavy set and was wearing prescription glasses. He was driving a white utility van with tinted back windows and no business logos.

Police said it's not known whether the two incidents are related.
