A confederate flag hadbeen placed at Union Cemeteryin the city's southeast, before it was taken down just before 8 p.m.
The flag was spotted Tuesday eveningafter an account posted it on Twitter.

The tweet got a string of reactions from accounts calling it "hateful" and saying that it neededto be taken down immediately.
Ward 8 councillor, Evan Woolley told CBC News that the news of the flagis outrageous.
"Who put that there? Why would they put that there?" he said.
"I'm glad we caught that and I hope we investigate and catchthe jerks who put it there."
Woolleyhas since reported viaTwitter that theflag wasremoved just before 8 p.m.
