Transport safety investigators are headed to the site of a train derailment in southern Alberta.

No one hurt and grain cars were empty

Transport safety investigators are headed to the site of a train derailment in southern Alberta.

The train, operated by Canadian Pacific Railway, derailed at 2 a.m. Thursday morning nearPearce, officials say. Pearce is northeastof Fort Macleod.

A spokeswoman for the railway said 17 empty grain cars derailed and no one was hurt.

Transportation Safety Board of Canada investigators are headed to the scene to "gather information and assess the occurrence," according to a press release.
