Man under C-Train and car hanging from bridge keep fire crews busy

One man is in critical condition after being trapped under a C-Train car on Saturday night.

Investigations continue into two incidents on Saturday night

One man is in critical condition after being trapped under a C-Train car on Saturday night,one of two incidents that kept fire crews busy on Saturday night.

According to the a city news release, the man was stuck under the front section of a train at the McKnight-Westwindsstation. Fire crews managed to extricate himwithout the use of heavy equipment.

The man is in critical condition in hospital and the investigation into the incident continues with few details at this time.

A little later in the evening, fire crews had to deal with another incident involving a car hanging off a bridge deck on Symons Valley Parkway N.W.

According to a city news release, fire crews responded to the call around 10:50 p.m. and found a four-door sedan in theprecarious position.

The car was secured using chains and a winch and the driver was extricated from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital, but the extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.

That incident is alsostill under investigation.
