Calvin Timothy Brooker identified as man found dead in southeast Calgary alley
Police believe the 57-year-old was killed at his home before his body was moved
Calvin Timothy Brooker was killed at his home in southeast Calgary before his body was moved to the backalley in the community ofDover Glen, say police.
The discovery was made on Thursday morningin the 2700 block of 41A Avenue S.E., saidInsp. Don Coleman of the major crimes section.
Brooker lived in the basement, with his elderly mother upstairs. A man who also lives in the house discovered Brooker's body and called police, Coleman said.
It's believed Brookerwas killed in a violent confrontation sometime between midnight and 8 a.m.
"He likely knewhis attacker," police said in a release.
Investigators believe thesecond man who lived in the housewas home for at least part of the night.
"We're still trying to figure out what exactly those hours preceding Mr. Brooker's death looked like, which involves interviewing a number of people," he said.
"Anybody who had contact with Mr. Brooker in the hours prior to his death would be considered a suspect. This individual would be one and there are others as well, potentially."
Police say the cause of death is not being released at this time.
